The chairman of the Egyptian Zamalek Club, Counselor Mortada Mansour, confirmed that three of Al-Ahly's board members rejected the decisions issued by the club yesterday, the most important of which was the removal of the name of Chancellor Turki Al Sheikh, head of the General Authority of Entertainment in Saudi Arabia from the honorary list of honorary heads of the club, and returned donations and gifts to The Sheikh after obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Youth and Sports being the competent authority.
Murtada Mansour revealed in his talk to the Zamalek program on the Zamalek club channel yesterday that Turki Al Sheikh has a lot of dues with Al-Ahly club which are money, cars and hours, and he questioned the possibility of the Al-Ahly board of directors returning all dues.
He said: "A lot of club officials obtained from Turki Al-Sheikh precious hours, the value of one hour is estimated at 900 thousand pounds, and some of them sold his watch for 600 thousand pounds, besides some of them obtained BMW cars, along with 261 million pounds obtained by the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Al-Ahly Club Mahmoud Al-Khatib to finance his campaign in the past elections that saw Al-Khatib win the presidency of the club at the expense of Mahmoud Taher, along with large sums donated by Al-Sheikh to settle big deals for Al-Ahly Club throughout the past years.
The Board of Directors of Al-Ahly Club had decided to cancel the decision of the previous Board of Directors and remove the name of Mr. Turki Al-Sheikh from the honorary list of honorary heads of the club, and the club issued a statement published on his official account in which he stated that it was decided to address the Minister of Youth and Sports with a request to obtain his approval to return all that was submitted by the Sheikh Of in-kind gifts and financial donations entered the club's treasury, after these donations and gifts, in their financial and in kind value, have become property of the club and may not be disposed of except with the approval of the competent authority.
The statement stated: "The Council submitted a memorandum to the Minister of Youth and Sports on 5/27/2018 requesting that a ministerial committee be dispatched from the financial and administrative inspection to the club, to find out the truth of the support received from Mr. Turki Al-Sheikh (financial donations - secondments for players - Friendly matches - gifts in kind) and aspects of exchange, but the administrative authority waited a lot before the formation of the required committee and tried to bridge the points of view because the Sheikh of Al-Sheikh has something in a brotherly Arab country .. And in front of the insistence of Al-Ahly club, the ministerial committee was formed on 7/18/2018, and it carried out work Inspection and review and ended with the health and safety of the legal position of the club and its board of directors, and before the ministerial committee finished the inspection and review work, we were surprised to present Mr. Turki Al Sheikh with a new communication to the Attorney General, directing to the Board of Directors several accusations that affect his financial liability, in addition to his handling of these allegations On his official account on Facebook, many of the reports (more than 60) were attached to the Sheikh’s report, all of which were presented by the President of Zamalek Club in solidarity with him and echoing the accusations, and the Supreme Public Funds Prosecution began investigating all the reports and I ordered the formation of a high-level five-member committee of experts from the Ministry of Justice (graft) and after ensuring the integrity of all financial, administrative and accounting procedures for donations, and that all gifts presented were deposited in the club's treasury according to the constant in the records, until recently the decision of His Excellency the Attorney General to save Investigations and excluding suspicion of crimes of aggression or harming public funds. "
The Chancellor, Turki Al-Sheikh, had asked the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports to return all his dues to Al-Ahly, and Al-Sheikh wrote on his official page on Facebook after the release of the Al-Ahly’s statement: “Finally, the resignation accepted ..
