Video footage widely circulated in the United States last days showed that the former star of the American Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team, Junior Smith, severely assaulted a man who sabotaged his parked car in a Los Angeles residential area.

The incident came due to the riots that accompanied the death of African-American George Floyd at the hands of a white policeman, to the outbreak of violence and vandalism of property that included many American cities east and west.

The vandal broke the glass of Junior Smith's car. But the aggressor was quick to rise and escape after that. "A white young man assaulted my car," Smith said, in a commentary on the incident. "I couldn't stand it, so I caught up with him and beat him." And he added: What happened is not a racist or hate incident on my part.
