24-year-old Cole Walsh became tenth in the Doha, Qatar pole vault final in September. In the same competition, Swedish superstar Armand Duplantis took home the silver after a scuffle against Walsh's compatriot Sam Kendricks.

Now Walsh is stuck in a doping control. The American has been tested positive for the substance carboxy-THC, which is the main ingredient in cannabis.

The stalwart has accepted the judgment from the US doping agency USADA, but believes that cannabis is not the reason behind it.

Instead, Walsh writes on his Instagram that it is about chocolate.

“I ate a chocolate bar containing THC to fall asleep during a flight. I couldn't believe it would contain so much carboxy-THC so I would test positive. I have grown as a person through this experience and I will be more focused than ever to become a better rod hopper, ”he writes.

However, the American has already served his sentence. He tested positive on January 29 after becoming third in an indoor competition in German Cottbus and can therefore immediately compete again.
