Legendary former basketball player Michael Jordan has released a statement on Sunday in which he claims to be " deeply saddened, really sore and totally angry " at the death of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis (Minnesota, USA) police.

"I am deeply saddened, truly in pain, and totally angry. I see and feel the pain, outrage, and frustration of all. I am with those who are calling for entrenched racism and violence against people of color in our country. We have had enough. " , claims the six-time NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls.

"I do not have the answers, but our collective voices show the strength and the inability to be divided by others. We must listen to ourselves, show compassion and empathy and never turn our backs on meaningless brutality . We must continue with peaceful expressions against injustice and demand responsibilities, "he adds.

"Our unified voice needs to pressure our leaders to change our laws , or we need to use our vote to create systematic change. Each of us needs to be part of the solution, and we must work together to ensure justice for all," it states.

"My heart goes out to the George Floyd family and to the countless others whose lives have been brutal and meaningless for acts of racism and injustice," he concludes.
