In Hungary, fans returned to soccer fields with the resumption of the domestic league this weekend, after a two-month hiatus due to the new Corona virus, to become the first country in Europe to allow the public to attend.

The Hungarian Confederation of the game announced Thursday that it will allow the fans to attend the stadiums for the first time since last March, provided that an empty row remains between the fans, and that three seats remain vacant between each person and another.

Hungary has become the first country in the old continent to allow fans to enter after the break due to "Covid-19", knowing that other European countries intend to do so with the resumption of their activities next month.

The Polish government authorized the opening of the stands, relatively to the fans, starting from June 19, explaining that their maximum number would be 25 percent of the capacity of the stands, compared to 10 percent allowed by the Russian authorities when the league resumed from June 21.

But major tournaments, such as Germany, which restarted competitions on May 16, and Italy, England and Spain to do so in June, will keep matches behind closed doors.

In Hungary, fans outside the Deutschior club in the northeast of the city of Miskols expressed their joy at returning to attend their team's match against its guest Mizokovisd.

"We will respect the laws, otherwise matches will be held behind closed doors if we break them," said Richard Kovacs, 36.

2255 fans continued the match from inside the stadium, noting that five other games will take place this weekend.

"The virus has not disappeared so we have to keep the safe distance," said 18-year-old Saba Gasparis, who put a protective mask on his face.

For his part, Gabor Lingheil, 41, expressed his concern "only about winning or losing, not about the epidemic."

The match ended with the host winning 1-0.

With the exception of the Ferensváros team, based in Budapest, the matches rarely attract a large crowd. The attendance rate last season was only three thousand people.

One of the social media users commented on the fans' return, saying, "Basically, we used to keep the social distance in the stadiums very well."

As of Sunday, Covid-19 had killed 526 people out of 3,786 reported infections in Hungary with a population of 9.8 million.

The authorities began to ease restrictions imposed as restaurants and bars opened their doors in the capital over the weekend.
