The British government approved today, Saturday, the return of sports competitions behind closed doors in the face of fans as of June 1, after being suspended for more than two months due to the emerging Corona virus.

"The wait is over. British sport will soon return in a safe and carefully controlled environment" to prevent the possibility of catching a "Covid-19" infection, said Minister Oliver Dawden, who is responsible for culture, sports and media.

The League of Football Premier League has previously set June 17 as the initial date for the resumption of competitions, subject to the availability of appropriate health and preventive conditions.
