The Italian Football Association (DFB) set a table late yesterday evening, to resume the activities of the competition on June 20, after weeks of stopping due to the crisis of the outbreak of the newly infected Corona virus.
The competition was suspended, in early March, due to the Corona epidemic, before the last 12 stages of the competition.
After a meeting via the Conference Con technology, which continued throughout the whole day, the 20 clubs participating in the first division in Italy decided to resume the competition with the four games that were postponed, at the end of February, and then the matches for the remaining stages of the competition will be held. The clubs agreed that the remaining matches of the Italian Cup will be held before the competition resumes, where the remaining round of the second-round matches will remain in the Cup competition, in addition to the final match of the tournament.
The Italian League statement said: "The clubs welcomed the green light to resume the activities of the league, which was given by the Minister of Sports, Vincenzo Spadafora, and voted unanimously to contest the four games postponed from the 25th stage of the competition, on 20 and 21 June next."
Atalanta's matches with Sassuolo, Inter Milan with Sampdoria, Turin with Parma, and Verona with Cagliari were postponed due to the invasion of Corona in northern Italy.
And stopped the Italian league competition, on the ninth of last March, after the end of the activities of the 26th phase of the competition, so that the activities of 12 full stages of the competition remain, other than the four matches. The matches of the 27th stage of the competition will be held in the middle of the week, starting from Monday, 22 June. Juventus leads the competition table one point ahead of Lazio, and the association stated that the match schedule for the other stages of the competition will be released in the coming days.
The Italian Cup schedule will be announced knowing that the final match of the tournament was scheduled to be held on June 17th. The first leg round matches in the championship's golden square ended with Juventus' 1-1 draw with Milan, and Napoli won 1-0 at Inter Milan in mid-February.
