The sports director of the Egyptian Pyramids Club, Hani Saeed, revealed that "Al-Jazira club did not make any request regarding the extension of the loan of the Brazilian player Marcos da Silva Franca, the famous Pekingo." The island had borrowed Keno from Pyramids for one season, during the past summer transfer period.
Hani Saeed told «Emirates Today»: “He did not address us Al-Jazeera formally or amicably about his intention to extend the loan of Keno, and the club did not receive any requests from other clubs to contract with Keno, and we will communicate with the player and his agent after his formal loan with the island ends next month. To find out if he received offers from other clubs, in preparation for studying it and choosing the decision that is in the interest of both the club and the player.
He added: «In the event that we did not receive any serious offers worthy of the club and the player, then Keno will return to the ranks of the team next season, because his contract is still valid with the club.
The Egyptian newspapers have confirmed that the former Pyramids club owner, Turki Al-Sheikh, had contracted with Keno from the Brazilian club Palmeiras, in a deal estimated to cost him four million dollars in the season.
The name Keno was linked to the Egyptian clubs Al Ahly and Zamalek to contract him without negotiations witnessing any serious steps to obtain player services.
Keno had confirmed in previous media statements to "On Sport" channel that no Al-Jazira club official had spoken to him to extend the loan, and the same was true at Pyramids, which he did not inform him whether the loan would be extended or not.
Keno played 12 games in the league out of 19, during which he scored two goals and made five goals.
The Brazilian player admitted that he had not presented the levels that were expected of him with the island at the beginning of the season.
He attributed the reason to the high temperatures, which he was not used to playing before.
He explained: «After I started to adapt somewhat to the atmosphere, I suffered a knee injury, which kept me away for two months, and all these circumstances did not help me to give everything I aspire to with (Abu Dhabi’s pride).
Keno plans to travel to Brazil to visit his family before he decides his future with the Pyramids club, whether by selling, lending, or staying with the Egyptian club next season.
