Two Olympic golds, three European Championships gold and three World Cup golds, it is an impressive CV that Luc Abalo possesses. But an almost inhuman tension and fantastic finishing technique has, for many years, caused the handball world to be amazed at his qualities. After eight years in the French big team PSG, the alternatives were many for the 35-year-old, finally the choice fell on a highly unexpected destination, Norwegian Elverum.

- I chose Elverum in Norway, even though other clubs have contacted me. I became convinced of the sporting project and above all their professionalism, ”Abalo tells Elverum's website and continues:

- I played against Elverum with PSG in Håkons Hall (Elverum's home arena, ed. Note) The atmosphere and zeal from the Norwegian supporters and the welcome we received also helped me in the evaluation. These are the moments I want to experience.

Elverum Handball lasts a few miles from the grass to Dalarna and in recent years has been a dominant in Norwegian handball with seven straight titles between 2012 and 2018. As coach, the French big star will receive the former Hammarby profile Michael Apelgren.
