[Commentary] Round face, dark skin, love to laugh, smile, two bright eyes narrowed into a slit. On May 28, on the tennis court of Chengdu University of Technology, Wang Ziying, a “post-95s” girl from Dazhou, Sichuan, sat in a special wheelchair, while manipulating the wheelchair to catch up with the tennis ball, while swinging and hitting the ball for daily tennis training.

It is understood that Wang Ziying suffered a car accident at the age of 2 and a half and her right lower limb was all amputated. However, she has never been depressed and inferior.

[Same period] (Wang Ziying, a member of the National Wheelchair Tennis Team) Since I was young, I was more cheerful, and then my parents took care of me and looked after me. Then I feel that there may be some physical differences from other children, but I feel that It feels like they can do the same as me, so I feel that in fact, I do n’t think of myself as a kind of thing. I would say to them that it is an alternative or something, and these little friends around me I also like to play with me, so I think they are pretty good.

[Commentary] In 2008, Sichuan Dazhou Paralympic Federation recommended Wang Ziying, who was less than 11 years old, who learned to swim, to the Sichuan Provincial Disabled Swimming Team. At the time, Sichuan was also planning to build a provincial disabled tennis team. When the coach responsible for team formation looked around for candidates, the swimming team saw Wang Ziying practicing in the swimming pool.

[Same period] (Wang Ziying, a member of the National Wheelchair Tennis Team) Coach Chen of the tennis team then came to the swimming team to select talents. When I saw me at that time, I asked if I liked tennis. At that time, I said that I did n’t know what tennis was. If I did n’t like it, I just refused and said I did n’t like it. Then after it was over, it was because the person in charge of our Paralympic Federation, he said that you can try tennis, and then let me try tennis again, only to find that this tennis is quite fun, at that time just holding a Try it with a mentality of play, and then slowly fell in love with this project.

[Commentary] Later, Wang Ziying officially joined the Sichuan Wheelchair Tennis Team established in 2009 and entered the National Wheelchair Tennis Team in 2015. It is very hard to practice wheelchair tennis. The player sits in a wheelchair and his feet cannot touch the ground. Because he needs to operate the wheelchair while hitting the ball, the player's physical fitness and skills are very high. Wang Ziying told reporters that their training includes multi-ball training, confrontation training, special training, etc., at least 5,000 hits per day.

After 10 years of hard training, in 2019, at the 10th National Paralympic Games in Tianjin, Wang Ziying lived up to the expectations of winning the women ’s singles and mixed doubles championships and became a hot tennis figure.

[Same period] (Wang Ziying, a member of the National Wheelchair Tennis Team) We have been in contact with this tennis in Sichuan, and we have only been in contact with tennis since 2008, but other provinces have been playing tennis for more than ten or twenty years, so it is so short Being able to break through one's own time and win the national championship is still a recognition of one's persistence for so long. I haven't given up for so long, and now I have finally won my own national championship.

[Commentary] Today, Wang Ziying's biggest goal is to participate in the Tokyo Paralympic Games, hoping that he can train harder, greet the competition in the best state, and win glory for the country.

[Same period] (Wang Ziying, a member of the National Wheelchair Tennis Team) Because the Olympics should have been held this year, but because the epidemic was postponed for a year, I would like to participate in the Olympics next year and make a comparison at the Olympics. Excellent results.
