Yesterday, the news came that the NHL players' union agreed to continue work on a 24-game playoff series to end the league. One who receives the news with pleasure is the Finnish sharpshooter Patrik Laine.

- I just want to play and I can do it in whatever format they decide, says the 22-year-old to NHL.com.

But it is not without concern that Laine returns to play. After not being on ice for over two months, the forward suspects rust problems.

- My game will look awful. I always find it hard to come back after a long period without skating, ”Laine says.

The Winnipeg Jets star has spent the hockey break in Finland and before the corona was on track for a record season in the NHL. After 50 points last season (30 goals, 20 assists), Laine has stepped up her assists this season and after only 68 games, 63 points have rallied (28 goals, 35 assists).

- I took big steps this year, especially in my "all around" game. It's the first time in my career I've had more assists than goals, ”Laine tells NHL.com.
