Hannover was in a good position to create a huge gap down to the qualifying spot in the German second league. But it started tough for Hannover, who after six minutes saw the home team take the lead on penalty, and only five minutes later Osnabrück scored again. That time in the wrong goal after John Guidetti nodded a ball forward to a defender who unluckily steered the ball into his own goal.

The second half started in the same way as the first, with a lead goal from Osnabrück. But when Hannover furnished with four changes in ten minutes, where Guidetti was allowed to leave the pitch, the match would get a new face.

Jumping Marvin Ducksch first made 2-2 on penalty, and five minutes later he netted again as he completed the turn with 3-2. Hanover would eventually win by 4-2, their third straight victory.
