The newspaper "Sud Deutsche Zeitung" had reported earlier that Infantino was using a private plane urgently to travel to Switzerland from South America.
The FIFA president justified the high costs, saying that there were important commitments the next day.
Infantino was criticized for his travels at the beginning of his term in 2016. So he made the trip to visit the Pope of the Vatican with a private plane and used the plane of a VIP in Russia, and Infantino was not exposed to any negative results as a result.
He made his first flight as FIFA president to attend the FIFA Confederation Council meeting in Wales using a low-cost airline and that made hopes that FIFA's approach, shaken by corruption scandals, would change.
“With the new leadership of FIFA, the total costs of private trips decreased dramatically in 2016,” said the International Federation.
