In mid-March, the NHL season was canceled due to the spread of the coronavirus. When the hockey leagues in Europe ended the season prematurely, the NHL has not given any news, but now the NHL may be on track to start again.

According to the AP, the players' union started a vote last night on an endgame with 24 teams instead of the regular 16 teams. One result could be clear on Friday night local time, writes the news agency, citing anonymous sources.

Ready for the second round

According to the proposal, the four highest placed teams in each conference table will stand over the first round. To the east are Boston, Tampa, Washington and Philadelphia and to the west St. Louis, Colorado, Vegas and Dallas. Eight teams from each conference will meet in one type of play-in to meet the highest ranked teams.

"I think we will never achieve a perfect scenario where everyone is happy and satisfied," said Nashville's Ryan Johansen before the meeting:

- As long as everyone can agree and be happy with the decision that is made.
