The LFP is smiling. The appeals lodged by Olympique Lyonnais, Amiens SC and the TFC against the stoppage of Ligue 1 after 28 days and of freezing the classification due to the epidemic of coronavirus were rejected by the judge of the summary proceedings of the administrative court of Paris. He "logically retained, by three orders made this Friday afternoon, that the decisions of general scope taken by the League's Board of Directors on April 30 could only be challenged before the Council of State", competent in this regard, writes the LFP in a press release.

The League decided in late April to end the season definitively, in accordance with government orders, and to establish a ratio of points won per game played to establish a final ranking. With this criterion, the Lyon club ranks 7th in Ligue 1, which deprives it of any qualification for the European Cup through the Championship. Amiens (19th) and Toulouse (20th) are relegated to Ligue 2 at the end of this truncated season, where ten days remained to be played.

The three applicant clubs will now have to continue their legal battle before the Council of State which, according to the League, is "competent to hear acts of a regulatory nature taken by authorities with national jurisdiction such as the LFP".
