The Egyptian club Zamalek has become threatened with sanctions by the Confederation of African Football, because the club president, Mortada Mansour, put a banner in front of the club saying that Zamalek is the true champion of the century.

A source in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) told Yalla Koura that Zamalek would be under legal accountability because of the Al-Qarn Club banner, indicating that what Zamalek club did before would undoubtedly expose it to legal accountability after the "K" logo was used.

He added, "The CAF regulations are clear, if the African Union logo is used by any body or person, it exposes it to legal accountability."

He continued: "The brand of CAF is registered as a trademark around the world and any violation that puts its perpetrator accountable. The matter will have a judicial crack and if the perpetrator of the violation has a relationship with CAF like the Zamalek Club, there will be a financial penalty on the part of the internal committees."

Al-Zamalek Club suspended a giant banner today, Friday, as it is the real century club.
