Jonsson sits on the length committee of the International Ski Federation (Fis), which had a telephone conference on Thursday.

Then it was decided to give the intended organizers a deadline until June 15, when you should notify whether you think you can organize your competition or not.

-It is based on what you know then. And if you can arrange without audience. Some are dependent on audience revenue, others are less dependent on audience, Jonsson says.

-The main scenario is to be able to run according to the calendar we set.

Plan B is to organize competitions in different time blocks, where the competitions are close to each other - in one, two or three countries.

- It is to limit travel and to be in countries that can host competitions.

Lillehammer is still there

The other day, it was said to be doubtful that Norway could have competitions in Lillehammer in December as it could be a ban on entry year-round. But at the meeting, Norway announced that they did not see any problems with this, and was also awarded an extra sprint competition from French Premanon who had been eliminated.

In the preliminary program, Ulricehamn has world cup competitions on January 16-17 and Falun on January 30-31.

Concrete decisions were also made at the meeting. Starting next season, the number of riders from the home management will be reduced from 15 to 12 (ten plus two U23 riders).

- The reason is that smaller nations have chosen not to go to competitions in Norway, for example, when there have been 15 Norwegian riders on the start, says Jonsson.

Points in relay

Another decision is Jonsson not very pleased, and he thinks it may be torn down. It is for the riders to get world cup points in the relays. This is to attract more star riders to line up in the relays.

- It will benefit those who travel for better nations. Say you go to Norway or Russia on the men's side or Sweden or Norway on the women's side. Then you can suddenly get quite a few individual points, which in practice can determine the World Cup, says Jonsson.

- If you calculate that it can be very unfair, I think it will be addressed again.
