Grégory Coupet has outstripped OL's official communication by announcing his departure this Wednesday for Dijon. Given the turn of his message on Twitter, the coach of the Lyon goalkeepers (for two years) clearly did not aim for this outcome. The seven-time champion of France with OL (from 2002 to 2008) thus recognizes being "sad" to leave, while slipping to have had "no news from (his) management".

I am sad of course to leave OL but I had no contract and no news from my management. I am very happy with the challenge that Mr. Delcourt offers me and also very happy to find some friends ...

At the end of the contract in June, and despite his proximity to Anthony Lopes, Grégory Coupet was therefore not one of OL's priorities for the coming seasons. In the wake of this message, and the announcement of the DFCO, the Lyon club split a short press release: "OL thanks Grégory Coupet for his two seasons in our technical management and the club wishes him good luck and lots of success in his new challenge on the side of Dijon ”.

In Burgundy, the former international goalkeeper will "find some friends" like Péguy Luyindula, David Linarès, Florent Balmont and Eric Carrière, whom he all rubbed shoulders during his coronations at OL.
