“To me, it feels like a fantastic challenge and a great honor to come home. It's a moment I've been looking forward to pretty much since I left Björklöven. I haven't lived in Umeå for 13 years, but we've always talked about Umeå at home, ”says the 33-year-old back to the ice hockeyall Swedish club's website.

Since Rahimi left Björklöven, he has played in AHL, SHL, Tre Kronor and also won an SM gold with Växjö 2017–2018 and a World Cup bronze.

"He will add on the pitch but above all he has been at the highest level and has a heart that is one hundred percent green yellow," says sports manager Per Kenttä.

The contract extends over two seasons, with the option of one more.
