July in Båstad is synonymous with tennis. It now puts a stop to the corona pandemic. Today, the ATP tour management announced that the gravel season in Europe for the summer of 2020 is set for August 1.
- It was an expected but sad decision. It is not risk-free enough for players to travel around the world, says Christer Hult, tournament general for men's tennis in Båstad to SVT Sport.
According to Christer Hult, they are now investing in next year which should not be in danger despite the scheduled tournament.
- There are people who have it much worse than us. We have already started to prepare for 2021. From a purely economic point of view, we have stable owners, so this does not jeopardize the future, ”concludes Hult.
