Jörgen Persson was allowed to jump in as assistant superintendent in the spring of 2019 because the then assistant Peter Andersson had to step down due to private reasons. The assignment then became permanent during the fall of that year.

- I have felt that I have grown into the role because I have been the assistant captain, so it was a pretty natural step to take when given this chance, says Persson.

54-year-old Persson has had many successes during his career as a player; among other things, he has five World Cup gold and ten European Championship gold. as well as participation in seven Olympic Games.

- I will continue to try to share a lot of what I have learned, and from my experiences during my journey. It's extra fun to be able to share it and try to help the guys develop their game as well, says Persson.

The new captain is pleased with the trend in the men's team.

- It has been very positive around the team since the World Cup at home in Halmstad 2018, when they took bronze. And then Mattias Falck took the World Cup silver in singles last year and in January we qualified for the Olympics. We have a young and hungry team so it will be really fun, says Persson.
