In an interview on the club's website, Markusson says he is disappointed with the way the representatives of Swedish football have been dealt with by the Public Health Authority. IFK Göteborg's club director is also aware of the fact that "one slides a bit on the comparisons" and "has no relevance" when comparing elite football with summer activities.

And he certainly does not understand how the matches in allsvenskan can even end up in the same reasoning as, for example, sports bars.

Now Markusson is asking for a greater understanding from the Public Health Authority.

"Help us"

- First of all, we need to get the Allsvenskan started so that we have the opportunity to play clearly, otherwise this will have huge consequences in the form of missing audience revenue, sponsorships and partnerships that we cannot fulfill our part in. We have central agreements together with Sef (Swedish elite football) of several hundred million SEK, he says.

- We are actually risking the future of Swedish football if we do not find a way forward and that is the only thing we have asked for: help us find this way forward.

Markusson hopes that the Public Health Authority finally understands how serious the situation is for elite football.

- We have to be given a fair chance to do our job. I hope you see and can make a distinction between general summer activities and Swedish elite football, so that we can get started with all Swedes again, he says.

"Remarkable"

Niclas Carlnén, Malmö FF's CEO, shares Markusson's view on the comparison and that the sports crowd's eventual crowd gathering around matches should not affect whether or not the Swede should get green light.

- What I think is remarkable is that football would have a responsibility to those who gather at a sports bar. Then you can think about when the Bundesliga opens this weekend, how should the Public Health Agency handle it?

- My view is that the business being run is also the one that is responsible for those who visit it or get involved in it, just as we take responsibility for elite football, he tells TT.

Premiere in June

At the beginning of June, the Public Health Agency will return to the question about the Swedes: You have sat on June 14 as a seasonal start - is it possible?

- We have set up on June 14 from a purely football perspective. There are many factors that can affect it, partly the Public Health Authority so clearly, and also what Uefa and Fifa come up with for guidelines on international matches and European games. As long as we do not receive any other message, which we believe we have not received, we will retain the premiere on June 14, and we will govern after that, he says.

Bosse Andersson, Djurgården's sports manager, says that "we are in a difficult situation, not just the football" and "we like the situation and follow the restrictions", but he also believes that it will be a decent game this year.

- Yes, I really hope so. But then everyone knows that we could have played ten rounds at that stage and now we haven't played any. It will be a special Allsvenska, I am hopeful that an Allsvensk 2020 will be played with or without audiences, he says.
