SVT Sport has previously reported a dissatisfaction with the coach duo, who have been women's coach in the cross country team for the past two seasons.
But Magnus Ingesson and Stefan Thomson continue to gain confidence from the union. This was announced during a press conference on Thursday, when the national squad for the 2020/2021 season was presented.
Then came the news, which replaces former men's coaches Mattias Nilsson and Fredrik Uusitalo, who left their jobs available after the past session.
One is Lars Ljung, who previously worked in the association with performance and video analysis. The other is Anders Högberg, who was previously a trainer at the ski gym Meråker in Norway and most recently comes from an assignment as the national team captain for the Chinese cross country team.
New for the season is that there is no longer a division between ladies and gentlemen.
- We will work hard in the coach group, whatever gender it may be. But it will be a certain division anyway. Where "Högan" (Anders Högberg) is more coach against men and Stefan (Thomson) is more towards ladies. But then we have a little different collaboration between them - where we can use each other's knowledge, says Magnus Ingesson.
