Last year was messy for the Swedish cross country team. Several key people chose or were forced to leave their roles, there was talk of a dissatisfaction with the wall team and at the same time it was delayed before the vacant roles were replaced.

After the season, one of the biggest stars announced that she is leaving the national team to invest in biathlon instead.

After the change, Stina Nilsson told SVT Sport that the stormy year affected her.

- It has been a very turbulent year. It all started in the spring when there were many important people in the national team who did not stay. I didn't think it would affect that much, but it may have affected the whole.

But now Nilsson is clear that she does not want to talk about Swedish cross-country skiing anymore.

- There is so much that people have already written and I think now I have put it behind me. I'm not going to be someone who throws rotten apples afterwards. I just want to look ahead, she tells SVT Sport.

But the 26-year-old likes to look back on the success of the long track, where not least the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics stand out with four medals - one of which is a gold in sprint.

- Being part of the cross country team is part of me, after all, I've been in it for seven years. I love to think back to the fact that there are so many things I have already done. “But god, I did this in Sochi after all. Oh god, I did that in Pyeongchang. Oh god how cool that was in Val di Fiemme. ”

- I feel a tremendous pride, but also a little neighbor that I feel very clear on that arena. I have lots of nice memories from there which I am very grateful for.
