French league club Amiens is taking legal action in an attempt to stop relegation from Ligue 1.

French league football was halted because of the corona pandemic when ten rounds remained. When the French government ruled out a few sporting events before the month of August, the league organization LFP made the decision to suspend the rest of the season.

LFP decided that the series-leading Paris SG would receive the championship title and that the last two teams, Amiens and Toulouse, would be degraded. Amiens had four points up to safe ground.

"It is unfair"

Amiens threatened with legal action early and on Tuesday the club announced that it will be taking legal action.

- We believe that the decision goes against sporting justice and that it is a punishment from the league. It is unfair. We have been forced into this feud and to go to court to stop this unfair decision, said club chairman Bernard Joannin at a press conference.
