Marcus Ericsson is in the process of preparing for its second season in Indycar. Prior to the season he changed teams and now belongs to Chip Ganassi racing, along with, among others, Felix Rosenqvist.

- It's one of the best teams so it's an incredible opportunity for me to run for such a team. It is the first time in almost ten years that I sit in a team that is really a winning team. Every competition weekend I go to I want to be involved and fight for victories and podium places, that's the attitude both I and the team have, Ericsson tells SVT Sport.

"Expect us to have a competitive car"

The first race will be special for drivers as they have not been in a race car since the pre-season tests in February and last they were in September. The competition weekend is compressed with training, qualification and the race itself on the same day and Ericsson hopes to have an advantage of being one of the top teams.

- I expect that we will have a competitive car to drive from the start. So I hope to be able to take advantage of it, he says.

"Drive these cool cars - I've been waiting for that"

It was earlier this week that the news came that the season starts on June 6 and there is no doubt about what he has been missing most.

- To be able to run competitions again, to compete against the best in Indycar and to drive these cool cars, that's what I've been waiting for since September, says Marcus Ericsson.
