It is the Danish government that comes with the news that it is now free for several of the country's professional sports series, including the men's two highest football leagues and the highest on the women's side - but without spectators and with requirements to follow a medical regulations.

The message also concerns the handball leagues, the men's ice hockey league and other professional sports where the athletes live on the income from their sport.

Culture Minister Joy Mogensen (S) believes that it is important for both the athletes and the sports-interested population that sports get started again.

- The leagues have to complete their series and resume training, and we are many who have not been able to follow in the Super League. We can now, even if it gets off the couch, says Mogensen.

- It has been important to also get with the women's league together with the other top leagues in Denmark. It would have been a great defeat for the entire development of girls soccer and the professionalization of the women's league if we had not been able to pick a champion properly.

Several of the leagues that have now been given the green light have already finished their seasons, but at least they can return to training and start the new season before closed doors.
