“It makes me extremely sad and worried and is in no way okay. Sport is a part of society and grapples with the same problems that exist in society. Figure skating, just like other sports, has challenges as I pointed out earlier. At the same time, it is important to emphasize that a large part of our associations - from Kiruna in the north to Trelleborg in the south, have a fantastic job, "Katarina Henriksson writes in an e-mail to SVT Sport, and continues:

“A business that really builds strong and healthy individuals. But since it has emerged that there are also maladministration, we chose from the Board to really go to the bottom of this and added the external investigation led by a psychologist and researcher from Karolinska Institutet. Here we will get answers to many questions and get facts - then no one has to speculate. ”

One of the districts wrote the following in SVT Sports' survey: "Swedish figure skating has never been on such a low level sporting and organizational - but above all ethical and moral".

“Of course, it's very boring. Here we have a great responsibility from the Board, but of course the districts also have a responsibility. As I said, they are extending the arm to the associations where the business is going on. When it comes to morality and ethics, it is extremely important. We have developed a common foundation of values ​​that districts and associations should work for and this is done in many places. Unfortunately, we have seen that there is a gap between what we want and what is done. ”

Four out of nine responding districts had confidence in the union, one responded partially and four districts responded that they do not have confidence.

“Figure skating in Sweden is undergoing an important process of change. Much works just as it appears in your responses from the districts that have responded, but some things can be better. As you know, an external investigation is underway so that we can really go to the bottom with any misunderstandings. We simply really want to find out how active, coaches and leaders are. What is good and what we need to be better at. "

How come the different districts have such a different view of the union?

“I think they have such different conditions. Some are geographically very scattered and others very local. They work voluntarily and have different inputs and backgrounds in the business. ”, Writes Henriksson.
