The Minister of Sports of Russia read the poem “You Remember, Alyosha, the Roads of the Smolensk Region” by Konstantin Simonov. The poem published on the social network was timed to coincide with the action “Athletes Read Poems about the War” launched by the country's Ministry of Sports in honor of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Earlier, Russian Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin announced the country's complete readiness to host matches of the European Football Championship next year.
