The decision to postpone the damall Swedish premiere due to the corona pandemic was made in mid-March. The ambition then was to get started again at the end of May-June, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The public health authority's state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell may have handed out the death knell for the plans when he saw little opportunities for elite football on Wednesday.

- We have a board meeting on Sunday and then it is most likely that we will close on May 31, says EFD's Tomas Hoszek.

- We do not want to put pressure on the Public Health Authority (FHM) in any way, we fully respect what is said from there.

Two things need to be changed

Hoszek notes that FHM must change two parameters in order for it to be green light for women's soccer. First of all, football matches must be allowed again, but also that travel restrictions to limit the spread of infection disappear so that it is possible to travel to carry out the matches.

- Those pieces have to fall into place and the clubs need a couple of weeks to get up in their training and win a training match a couple of matches, says Tomas Hoszek.

Can be single series

It is likely that the damsel Swede will be pushed up to June 14, the same date as currently applies to the men's Swedes.

TT: When is the deadline for you to complete 22 rounds?

- It's somewhere in July. Then the single series (11 rounds) is the next step. But we live under the hope of being able to carry out the entire season, says Hoszek.
