“I'm happy to be back here”

Smolov’s unexpected departure from Vigo in early April caused a serious resonance in both Russia and Spain. Celta head coach Oscar Garcia even admitted that he was disappointed with the striker and his teammate Dane Pione Sisto, who also left the country.

However, a month later, both returned to Spain. Fedor arrived on May 4 and said that he wanted to enter the field as soon as possible. Apparently, no sanctions will be imposed on the Russian side by the club.

“I miss football. I am happy to be back here and look forward to the matches. The situation is actually not very good. We must be grateful for the work of doctors who care about people, and this is the most important thing. Family health, children. People need an incentive to get distracted and think about something else, not a coronavirus, ”the Television de Galicia football player quotes.

However, the next two weeks the Russian will have to quarantine. However, the club is sure that Fedor should not have any health problems.Team doctor Garcia Koto noted that the striker returned from a country that is not dangerous from the point of view of the coronavirus, but he has to undergo testing.

“We will not be able to achieve a complete absence of risks, even having a vaccine against coronavirus infection on hand. Health is the realization of what can and cannot be done, ”cites Celta’s physician Garcia Cota El Desmarque.

In the near future, testing for coronavirus will pass not only Fedor, but also to all his partners. It will take place on May 6th. By the way, on Wednesday this procedure awaits the players of Barcelona. But when the team from Vigo resumes full training, it is not yet clear.

“Let's hope for the best, but I'm afraid we will watch the competition on television first, not in stadiums.” Individual training and basic classes for teams from professional leagues will be available from May 4, ”Marca quoted Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

A statement on the Celta official website said that the club will soon inform you when and in what format classes will be held.

"They decided in vain to leave"

Smolov returned to Russia on April 5. According to Spanish media, the player hired a private plane to attend the birthday of his girlfriend, Maria Yumasheva, the granddaughter of the country's first president, Boris Yeltsin. At the same time, the club reported that they knew about the situation.

“The footballer immediately announced his movements and left with an obligation to return as soon as he decides his personal affairs. In any case, he will adhere to a regime of self-isolation, ”the Celta press service said in a statement.

Later, Smolov himself explained in social networks his decision to leave Vigo.

“In the realities of the current situation, our common fight against the virus, especially when closing borders, the situation required me to return to Russia in order to be closer to my family. I ask you to treat this situation with understanding. With the first changes for the better and at the first request of the club, I will be happy to return to Vigo, ”Smolov wrote in his Instagram.

However, despite the rather calm reaction from the club, the “heavenly” head coach Oscar Garcia said that Smolov and Sisto “did wrong”.

“Having made the decision to leave, they made a mistake, because our requirement to stay in Spain was very clear. This was discussed not only at the club level, but also at the government level. We must set an example of professionalism, and they decided in vain to leave. The club knew about his movements, and he reported everything, but, logically, he should have stayed here, ”COPE quoted Garcia as saying.

Possible departure of Eder and interest in Lincoln

But the current club Smolova “Locomotive” in the near future may face serious problems. Indeed, among other things, in an interview with Spanish journalists, Fedor said that he intends to spend the next season in Spain. These words should seriously alarm the Lokomotiv, which may remain completely without attackers. At present, the striker of the Russian national team is in Celta on loan, but the agreement provides for the possibility of a buyout.

At the same time, the current contract with the railway workers at Eder will expire in the summer, and he is currently, in fact, the only nominal forward of the team, except for the recovery from a serious injury of the knee of Luka Dzhorzevich. Nothing is reported about the possible continuation of cooperation, but this is not surprising, given the age of the Portuguese - in December he will be 33 years old.

Thus, the club will be forced to seek reinforcement in the transfer market. In the South American media have already reported on the interest of “Loco” to the 19-year-old striker “Flamengo” Lincoln. However, according to the publication, the player is in demand not only in Russia. Allegedly, Juventus wanted to buy a football player, but the current striker club refused to sell his pupil for € 15 million.

The “Locomotive” joked about this, playing in tune with the name of a football player with a famous brand of cars.

“We will buy Lincoln 2000 of release. No mileage in Europe, ”the railway official said on Twitter.
