  • Motor, sport and rides in the de-escalation: you can go out more, but not with the car

The phases of de-escalation have raised endless doubts in all unions and citizens. One of them is that of the workshops, whose definition in the state of alarm was slow to materialize. So much so that some decided to open at their own risk until the essential character was finally decreed only for those who provided service to essential vehicles and always without attention to the public.

Can these establishments open in phase 0? According to Conepa, one of its associations, the Minsiterial Order 388/20 published by the BOE, allows the reopening of the workshops from May 4 to provide any type of service. It makes this interpretation when considering them as part of retail trade and service provision activities. The workshops will no longer have the limitation of attending only emergency services.

Despite this, Conepa asks its associates to be attentive to their territorial associations, given the possibility of regulatory modification of what is approved "depending on the objective parameters of monitoring the pandemic." It also advises the owners of the workshops to analyze whether the circumstances that gave rise to the ERTE declaration , which the majority have accepted, have ended. "It is advisable not to make hasty decisions and adapt the available personnel to real demand, since mobility is still very limited."

It should be noted that the text refers to the surface of the premises, which must not exceed 400 square meters . In this sense, Conepa interprets that the norm "within the philosophy of commercial and professional reactivation, and with a general purpose, would not affect the workshops". However, they assure that they are going to make an express consultation to the competent authority so that there is a confirmation about this limitation that, with the BOE in hand, would establish restrictions.

By appointment and individual attention

The same in terms of capacity. The owners of some workshops defend that they have no problems in this regard , since the visits are staggered and the clients hardly remain on the premises. However, prior appointment is required to serve customers , as well as preferential hours for customer service over 65 years.

It will be attended individually and a waiting area will be enabled. A distance of one meter must be maintained when there are protection elements or two if these components do not exist . You should also do two cleanings a day and wash work clothes in cycles between 60 and 90 degrees.

Displacements to these premises may only be made within the municipality of residence, unless the service or product is not available there. As for how they must meet, l will have workshops to ensure the personal protection of customers and employees . All these considerations are also valid for parts stores.
