The International Tennis Integrity Unit suspended the Egyptian player Youssef Hossam for life because of his involvement in corruption cases and match-fixing, to follow the example of his brother Karim Hossam, who faced the same punishment, after he was charged with 16 charges, including giving confidential information and facilitating betting.

The Integrity Unit issued a statement confirming that Hossam, 21, who has been temporarily arrested since last May, was suspended for life due to multiple corruption charges and match-fixing. The famous English lawyer, Jane Mwalkahy, issued the verdict against Hossam after a three-day hearing in London last March.

The statement revealed that the matter is related to 21 violations of the anti-corruption program in tennis. Hossam is currently ranked 810 in the ranking of professional tennis players, noting that his best ranking was in December 2017 when he ranked 291 globally.
