Why do today what we can put off indefinitely until tomorrow? Belgium has also made the decision not to decide the future of the 2019-20 season for its first and second division football championships.

The General Assembly of Belgian Professional Clubs (Pro League), which was to endorse the definitive end of the current championship season on Monday due to the Covid-19 pandemic, has been postponed to May 15, according to a statement on Sunday.

Third report

"The Pro League hopes to be able to deal with the recommendations on the consequences of the coronavirus crisis, made by the Board of Directors on April 2, with all the necessary information," said the press release. The Pro League board of directors had recommended ending the D1 and D2 championships.

The Belgian clubs, mostly in favor of stopping the competition, will therefore take their final decision after the advice of the National Security Council. The latter, composed of the main federal ministers and leaders of the federated entities, has not yet spoken on the subject. The Pro League had already postponed twice in recent weeks its decision on the continuation or the end of the championship.
