Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, said today, Saturday, that the return of sporting activity in Egypt is the government's decision according to the current data and in light of the developments related to precautionary measures to confront the spread of the new Corona virus (COFED-19).
Ashraf Sobhi said during his meeting with the quinquennial committee in charge of managing the Egyptian Football Association that the aim of today's session is to confirm the readiness and readiness of the Egyptian Football Association, and the quinquennial committee’s vision in defining the technical framework for determining a number of stadiums that could have a major role in Hosting local matches during the next stage if the state decides to return the activity at any time.
He added in the statements published by the website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, that the return of sports activity will be decided by the Egyptian government according to the current data and in light of developments regarding the procedures to combat the Corona epidemic, explaining that the current reality data indicates that it is still difficult to return the activity during the current time.
The meeting included discussing the procedures and controls for conducting the elections of the Egyptian Football Association Board in the framework of coordination with the International Football Association (FIFA) and in light of the circumstances of the current situation regarding the Egyptian government's actions to confront the spread and repercussions of the Corona virus.
The Minister of Sports praised the efforts of the five-year committee in preparing a full technical vision in the event of the resumption of the Egyptian league, stressing the full coordination between the ministry and the federation in this regard.
