The Catalan Football Association announced the cancellation of the Catalan Super Cup match for the current season, due to the outbreak of the emerging Corona Virus crisis (Covid-19).

The federation stated on its official website on the internet that Barcelona and Espanyol clubs will have the right to object to the decision, as they are both parties to the match.

The federation said in its statement that its decision is derived from the agreement to stop all football competitions for the current season, which was agreed on April 23, which applies to the Catalan federation as well.

The last version of the Catalan Super Cup saw Girona win the title, after beating Barcelona 1 / zero, in the match that was held at the "Nova Crio Alta" stadium in the city of Sabadell.
