Krawietz is thus the reigning champion of the French Open and he has earned over a million US dollars on the ATP tour, but in recent weeks he has worked in a grocery store in Munich.

- I fill the shelves with a colleague. I make sure there is enough sausage and cheese. I empty empty cartons and last week I disinfected the carts, says the 28-year-old to Der Spiegel.

He says he has learned a lot from the new job.

- My colleagues sometimes get up at five in the morning to be in the shop and fill shelves at half past six. I have had the luxury of making my hobby a job, ”says Krawietz.

The French Open is moved to September and then Krawietz and Mies have the chance to defend their title.
