For many years, Henrik Lundqvist was the obvious first choice in the New York Rangers goal but much has changed lately. Both Alexandar Georgiev, 24, and Igor Sjestjorkin, 24, have passed Lundqvist as the highest priority goalkeepers in the NHL club.

- We have played in the same team for four years and he is a winning skull and wants to be the best, whether it is match, training or yes, whatever, says Mika Zibanejad in SVT's Hockey Evening Special.

27-year-old Zibanejad suffers with the Swedish goalkeeper.

- I don't know how I would have acted if I was in that situation. But he has come to the trainings, driven hard and tried to be the best teammate he can be in such a tough situation.

He adds that it is a difficult situation for the whole team.

- It's not just tough for him. Of course it is tough for him, but it is tough for us to see it happen to him as well.

Lundqvist, who has a year left on his contract with Rangers, has previously told SVT that he is thinking a lot.

- You are here to play. That is why you are in the process. When you are not playing, you analyze more. It will be difficult to disconnect it, although this is when you may want to disconnect it. You spend a good deal of time thinking about. You have to believe it, he said in March.
