The UEFA Executive Committee held an extra session on Thursday.

The meeting was mainly informational, but it was also decided that the women's European Championships will be moved to the summer of 2022.

Otherwise, European football is in limbo. No one really knows in the current state whether or when football can start playing again.

- The hope is that the European leagues and cups will end. We have not arrived at exact planning and time yet. When we have our next meeting at the end of May (May 27, red note), I hope we have a good picture of the situation, "Uefa's Vice President Karl-Erik Nilsson tells SVT Sport.

If that is the case, there will be a lot of football to look forward to in the remainder of 2022. Karl-Erik Nilsson expects the national team game to continue as planned this fall. For the men's team, it means the Nations League game against France and Portugal in September, Croatia and Portugal in November and finally France in November.

- When it comes to national team competitions, the idea is that they should be implemented as planned on both the women's and men's side. What makes it a little difficult is that we have to pick up some playoff matches for next summer's European playoffs on the men's side, which means that we will have an incredibly compressed national team schedule this fall.
