The Football Association has opened the door for the Arab Gulf League clubs to reduce the salaries of players, in order to alleviate the economic effects of the freeze in sports activity, due to the emerging crisis of the Corona virus.
The federation allowed the Arab Gulf League clubs to deduct a percentage of the monthly salary of football components for a temporary period of no more than 40%, provided that the minimum salary for the player after deduction is not less than 15,000 dirhams in relation to professional clubs, and the rate of salary reduction for players and coaches of first-class clubs The temporary also does not exceed 40%, but provided that the minimum salary is not less than 10 thousand dirhams.
Abu Al-Shawareb told Emirates Today: “No decision has been taken to reduce the salaries of players so far, whether for foreigners or citizens. We know the decision of the International Football Association, and we will start in the coming period to talk about this issue, and the Board of Directors has not taken any decision regarding reducing Salaries of employees in the sector of Sunni stages or coaches, and all these matters will be studied in the coming period in consultation with the Board of Directors, and taking into account the general humanitarian situation in which the whole world is living ».
He added: «There are ongoing negotiations in order to prepare for the new season and end all matters related to it, this is what is going on in the ball company’s board of directors, and other matters related to reducing players’ salaries or anything else will be discussed during the coming period in the club’s board of directors.
