Black coached Farah on several occasions and has also worked closely with several of the biggest British stars since the 1990s. Sally Gunnell, Linford Christie, Colin Jackson, Jonathan Edwards and Jessica Ennis are some of the activists who reached the world reputation with which Black collaborated.

He was one of the top executives of the British Athletics Association from 2012 to 2019 when he stepped down following a BBC investigation that showed Black had a connection with doping suspended coach Alberto Salazar, who led Farah to the four Olympic Games in 2012 and 2016 .

Became Farah's coach after Salazar

Since last year, after Salazar was suspended for four years for doping offenses, Black became coach of Farah again.

“Ever since I was 14, Neil supported my career. My heart has broken. I wouldn't have gotten there without Neil Black. No one felt as good as him, ”Farah writes on Twitter.

Farah went to the marathon after double Olympic gold at 5000 and 10000 meters at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics.

As the Olympics are postponed for a year, Farah will be 38 at the championships in 2021. Farah has never been caught in a doping test and is not charged with anything.

There is no information on Black's cause of death.
