FC Midtjylland, the current leader of the Danish first division, has proposed to mount a drive-in theater in the parking lot of its stadium, the MCH Arena, so that its fans can follow their team matches from the car on giant screens in case the parties have to be resumed behind closed doors due to the threat of coronavirus.

"In collaboration with relevant authorities, MCH and television rights holders, we have planned the best possible alternative to a full stadium, and we invite 10,000 fans to the drive-in premiere so we can continue the fight together" The club stated in a statement.

Herning's club, founded in 1999 and which has won the Danish Super League twice (2015 and 2018), thus seeks to offer "the best experience" to its fans when the competition resumes behind closed doors.

For this, it will enable 2,000 parking spaces so that fans, from their vehicles, can witness the first game of their team, an event that the club will request to enter Guinness. In addition, the audio of the meeting can be received through the corresponding radio frequency.

With this, Midtjylland hopes that 10,000 people can watch the game. "We aim to create the best stadium experience: the coronavirus does not change anything, it only provides other preconditions. We are in talks with the police, with Herning Township and with MCH to create a safe environment for everyone," he explained. the club's director of marketing, Preben Rokkjaer.

Denmark recently extended the ban on holding public meetings until May 11 , and the Danish Football Association has already expressed its wish to complete the season even if it is behind closed doors. With two days to go before the end of the regular league, Midtjylland is the leader with 62 points, 12 more than FC Copenhagen, and both are two of the six teams that will play the 'Playoff' for the title.
