Leeds club, who is currently playing in the first division, has revealed the death of Norman Hunter, Leeds United soccer star, due to infection of the new Corona virus at the age of 76.

Hunter was in the England squad when he crowned his only world title in 1966 at home, and with the "Three Lions" won third place in the 1968 European Cup.

Leeds club revealed in a statement on its official website that "Norman was transferred to the hospital last week after being diagnosed with the Coronavirus, and despite his continued fighting and the great effort made by the medical team, he unfortunately lost his battle early Friday morning."

The English star played more than 700 games with Leeds during the most successful era for the club in the late sixties until the mid-seventies under the leadership of coach Don Riffy, where he crowned him with the former first division title twice, and the England Cup once, and reached with him to the Champions League European Cup final in 1975 And the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1973.
