The Samuel Eto'o Charitable Foundation has announced that the former star of the Cameroon national team and the Spanish club Barcelona donated a number of health tools, equipment and food items to 100,000 people in his country, in order to help tackle the spread of the "Corona COVID-19" virus.

The charity revealed, in a statement, that Eto'o donated 50 thousand health and food tools and equipment to the poor in Cameroon, and 50 thousand mask for drivers of cars and motorcycles in Cameroon for protection from the coronavirus.

The Foundation also indicated that Eto'o donated health and preventive tools for 1,000 football players in the Cameroonian league, in the first and second classes, and the Women's League.

Ito joins a list of football stars on the brown continent who have assisted their countries to face the dangers of the "Corona pandemic" outbreak, and the most prominent of them is Liverpool striker Sadio Mane who donated 45 thousand euros to contribute to the treatment of people living with coronavirus in his country of Senegal, and Aaron Van Bisaka Manchester star United, who donated 20,000 medical gloves to medical staff in his country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with the goal of helping them tackle the coronavirus, and the coach of Real Madrid, of Algerian origin and French nationality, Zinedine Zidane, provided medical equipment to support health organizations in the Algerian state of Bejaia, which is the birthplace mother.

Eto'o is one of the most prominent legends of football in his country, and he previously played for the major European clubs, which he started with Real Madrid between 1997 and 2000, before moving to Real Mallorca, and then Barcelona in 2004, in a career that extended with the Catalan club until 2009, during which he fought Samuel has 199 games and scored 129 goals in the Barca jersey. He also played in his national team jersey between 1997 and 2014, during which he won the African Cup of Nations in 2000 and 2002, in addition to crowning him the title of best players in the continent in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2010, and ascending the list of top scorer in the African Nations Cup with a score 18 goals.
