In May 2017, the message came that the all-Swedish match between IFK Gothenburg and AIK was postponed. The reason was that AIK's goalkeeper, Kenny Stamatopolous, had been subjected to bribery. A former AIK player was suspected in connection with the set match and the case went up in the district court - which chose to release the person.

The person was later sentenced in court to conditional judgment and daily fines for bribing.

Now two people, including a former AIK player for five years, will be suspended until 13 April 2025.

"Suspension means that the convicted person may not participate in any form of organized sports activities within any special sports association within the Swedish Sports Federation and the suspension includes training, competition, training and exercising assignments.", The Swedish Football Association writes in a press release.
