Al-Etihad club president, Mohamed Moslehi, revealed that 10 clubs are interested in canceling the Egyptian League for this season, due to suffocating financial reasons after the Corona pandemic. Moslehi said in televised comments: The Egyptian clubs no longer have the luxury of choosing between completing the league or canceling it, the majority support cancellation, especially since the indicators confirm the difficulty of returning activity before June, and the competition continuing until next October.

He added: "We do not have the money to continue spending on the activity of the ball for the next six months. The situation has become financially stifling." He said that they are asking the Football Association to cancel the league competition today before tomorrow.

The head of the Al-Ittihad club stressed that the Egyptian League players have not yet had any initiatives regarding reducing their salaries, as was the case in many leagues in Europe.
He continued: "The president of any club cannot compel his players to reduce their salaries, and this matter, as announced by the Football Association, is up to the friendly agreement between clubs and players.
