The Lisbon Sporting Club reduced the salaries of its players and leaders by 40% due to the current Corona crisis.

It is expected that this measure will apply to the salaries of next April and May and June, and the rate of reduction for leaders will reach 50%, according to Lusa news agency based on a decision of the club’s board of directors.

Sporting Lisbon was fourth in the league table when the competition stopped in the 24th round out of 34 rounds.

Portuguese media reported that Porto club leaders and second-placed Lisbon club Benfica were considering similar steps.
