Moss, seen as one of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time despite never winning the championship, was long cared for at home in the London district of Mayfair by wife Susie Moss. She was also at his side as he fell asleep.

- He died the way he lived, beautiful, she tells the Daily Mail.

Won 16 F1 races

Moss competed in Formula One during the 50's and early 60's and became the Deputy World Champion four times. He won 16 of the 66 F1 races he participated in between 1951 and 1961.

During a time when it was common for drivers to compete in different motorsport classes, Stirling Moss won 212 of the total 529 races he participated in during his 14-year career, which began in 1948.

In the comba one month 1962

He was forced to end his career in 1962 after a nasty crash. After the crash he was in a coma for a month and afterwards he was partially paralyzed for another six months.

However, he continued to compete in historic cars and events until he was 81 years old.
