The news that the 69-year-old was infected and hospitalized came last Friday. Even then, however, it was clear that he was symptom-free. He had been taken to the hospital two days earlier, last Wednesday, for an infection that required antibiotic treatment. There he was also tested for covid-19 disease.
Dalglish is one of Liverpool's foremost players of all time. He belonged to the football club for 13 years between 1977 and 1990 and won eight league titles as a player and coach in the club.
