As all sports events have been canceled, several countries have reduced the number of doping tests.
Something that worries Usadas chairman Travis Tygart, who believes many of the cheaters now see their chance.
- Corona pandemic has greatly reduced the number of tests around the world. In many places they cannot be implemented now because of restrictions, and here in the US we only do the most priority tests, says Tygart.
- It is a serious situation for the anti-doping work, but we do everything we can to ensure that everyone competes on the same conditions.
Tygart says that "the cheaters are probably sitting and smiling out there right now".
- It would be naive to think that bad people will not try to exploit this situation.
